COMEDK UGET Counselling

The authorities will conduct the counselling of COMEDK UGET 2019 for the qualified candidates of the entrance exam. COMEDK UGET 2019 counselling will be organised in the third week of July tentatively for which candidates will have to report to the institute allotted for biometric, document and photo verification. It is to be noted that COMEDK UGET counselling 2019 will be in offline mode which means candidates will have to be present physically to participate in counselling. The seats in COMEDK UGET will be allotted to candidates after the submission of DD. COMEDK UGET Counselling Process

Candidates will be required to follow the steps given below for counselling of COMEDK UGET :-

Steps 1 - Reporting to the venue

  • Candidates will have to report to the notified venue of COMEDK counselling. During reporting, they will have to carry the required documents.
  • Candidates will have to attend COMEDK UGET counselling according to the sessions allotted for a specific rank along with one Parent/ Guardian.
  • Candidates will have to visit the check-in counter at the institute as per the Rank numbers/ session being announced and produce documents as requested to enter the counselling venue.
  • After the check-in process is completed, candidates will have to proceed to the verification section.

Step 2- Verification of Documents

For this, candidates will have to fill COMEDK UGET counselling verification cards (available at verification section) and arrange the documents according to the order mentioned in documents.

Following it, candidates will have to visit the verification counter where the officer will verify all the original documents and DD and retain the photocopies of all documents verified.

List of documents candidates need to carry:-

  • COMEDK Online Application Form
  • Rank Card of COMEDK
  • COMEDK TAT with signature of Invigilator
  • COMEDK Verification Entry Card
  • Fee Payment Receipt
  • Original ID proof
  • Parents/ Guardian’s Original ID proof
  • Date of Birth proof of candidate (SSLC Certificate/Government document)
  • PUC/ 12th Std or equivalent marks card
  • Category certificate (if Applicable)
  • Parents study proof in Karnataka for 7 years
  • Candidates study proof in Karnataka for 7 years including 10th or 12th in Karnataka
  • Tulu Minority Certificate – Issued by Principal of school/school record showing “mother tongue” (If applicable)
  • Religious minority certificate Christian - Issued by Principal of school/school record showing “Religion” (If applicable)
  • HKR Eligibility Certificate (If applicable)
  • Karnataka domicile certificate (Issued by Revenue authority, not below the rank of Tahsildar) (If applicable)
  • For detailed list of documents required for verification

Step 3 - Biometric, Photo Verification and Registration

  • After the completion of document verification
  • candidates will have to complete their biometric and photo verification process.
  • Once this is done, candidates will have to collect the registration slip and proceed to the counselling hall along with the registration slip.

Step 4 - COMEDK UGET 2019 Seat Allotment

  • For seat allotment, candidates will have to fill the demand draft details and three choices of courses and colleges in the order of their preference.
  • Candidates' ranks will be announced. After which, they will have to go to selection counter and select the seat as per availability.
  • They will have to collect the acknowledgement of seat selected.

Step 5 - Seat Acknowledgment and Deposit of Academic fees

  • Candidates will have to collect the seat allotment letter and proceed to DD deposit counter.
  • They will have to submit their DD along with seat acknowledgement letter at the DD Counter. Candidates will have to deposit a sum of Rs 55,000 at the time of seat allotment and remaining tuition fee at the college level when they get admitted.The Demand Draft has to be drawn only on the approved Banks in favor of COMEDK and indicating the Test Admission Ticket Number (TAT Number) thereon, payable at Bangalore.

Step 6 - Allotment Letter Collection

  • In this step, candidates will have to collect their original allotment letter and fee payment receipt. They need to check all the details and report to college as per dates mentioned in the original allotment letter

Salient features of COMEDK First Round of Counselling

  • Candidates will have to be physically present for the counsellingCandidates will be allowed to participate in COMEDK UGET 2019 counselling within time notified time and as per the stipulated rank ranges only.
  • Candidates will have to get their original documents verified and register. No candidate will be allowed to participate in COMEDK UGET counselling 2019 without registration.
  • Upon verification of documents, a merit list will be generated for each session. The candidate who has a higher rank will get the opportunity to select a seat.
  • A screen will show course-wise and college-wise availability of seats.
  • Once a seat is selected, it cannot be changed subsequently.
  • The entire seat selection process will be computerized from stage registration till printing of the seat allotment letter.
  • If the allotment letter issued to the candidate is tampered, the authorities will have the right to cancel such allotment and candidate will forfeit the entire fees paid.
  • In case, the original allotment letter is lost, candidates will lose the selected seat as well.

Salient features of COMEDK Second Round of Counselling

  • All the unfilled, surrendered, forfeited, cancelled and newly added seats, if any, will be made available in round 2 of COMEDK UGET 2019 counselling.
  • Candidates who will select a seat during the first round will be eligible to participate in the second round.
  • Candidates who will not select any seat can also participate in round 2
  • The schedule for round 2 counselling will be notified separately.
  • the Government and the Colleges concerned.

Rules & Guidelines for First Round of Counseling and Seat Selection

  1. A day is divided into multiple sessions and the first session begins at 8:30AM. The candidate will be allowed to participate in accordance with the notified time schedule and as per the stipulated rank ranges only.
  2. The candidates are required to get the original documents verified and later to register themselves in the counter where it gets entered into the computer system. Unless the candidate is registered, he/she cannot participate in the seat selection process. As biometric, photo and signature verification process will be executed, the candidate’s physical presence is compulsory.
  3. After verification of documents, once the registration of candidates is completed, a merit list is generated for each of the session. Unless a candidate who has a higher rank gets the opportunity to select a seat, a candidate who has the rank next to him cannot select the seat. The candidate must wait for his/her turn at the seat selection terminal.
  4. A dynamic screen will show course-wise and college-wise availability of seats, which helps the candidates to make up their mind in advance. The moment the option is exercised, the computer will show one seat less against the course and college from which the candidate has selected the seat. Therefore, once a candidate selects a seat according to order of merit, it cannot be changed subsequently. The selection of an available seat in a college based on individual merit is entirely the responsibility of the candidate concerned and the staff managing the process will only facilitate such seat selection and the onus cannot be shifted to them.
  5. The entire seat selection process is computerized right from the stage of registration till the stage of printing of the Seat Allotment letter. The highly sophisticated software used in the system has the ability to control the initial registration, provide data for selection of the seats by the candidates in the order of merit, payment of fees and finally printing of Allotment letter.
  6. Allotment letter has built in security features and cannot be duplicated. No duplicate Allotment letter will be issued for any reason. If it is found that the allotment letter issued to the candidate is tampered, COMEDK reserves the right to cancel such allotment and the candidate will forfeit the entire fee paid. If the original Allotment Letter is lost, the candidate will lose the selected seat as well. Hence the candidates are cautioned to be more careful. Excuses such as a police complaint is filed in this behalf, FIR lodged etc. will not be entertained.
  7. No candidate will be allowed to change the seat, once selected, during the same counseling round. Hence, the candidates are cautioned to be very careful during the counseling process.
  8. After verifying the original documents, one set of attested photocopies of all the originals and Demand Draft drawn on Approved Bank in favor of COMEDK, payable at Bangalore for Rs 55,000/- are required to be submitted by the Candidate. The balance tuition fee as applicable and all the original documents are required to be submitted to the College at the time of reporting.
  9. After seat selection, the Candidate will go to the DD Deposit counter and deposit the Demand Draft for Rs.55,000/- and obtain fee receipt and the allotment letter which has security features. This allotment letter will enable him/her to join the college concerned.

Rules & Guidelines for Second Round of Counseling and Seat Selection

  1. After the completion of the first-round seat selection, unfilled, surrendered, forfeited, cancelled and newly added seats, if any, will be offered during the second round.
  2. All candidates who have selected a seat during the first round, whether reported to the college or not, are eligible to participate in the second round along with candidates who have not selected any seat.
  3. Candidates who have not attended the First round of counseling are also eligible to participate in the second round to choose the seats available at that stage.
  4. The second round of seat selection will be held as per the schedule to be notified separately.
  5. The letter of Allotment issued by the COMEDK is to enable the candidate to report and complete the process of admission in the concerned college, with reference to the prescriptions of AICTE/COA and the concerned University in Karnataka. Hence at the college level, all the original documents are again verified before acceptance.
  6. COMEDK’s responsibility is only to ensure fair and transparent evaluation of merit followed by single window counseling. Issues and grievances, if any, subsequent to the selection of seats is the responsibility of the concerned college to which the candidate is allotted and the regulatory agencies.
  7. COMEDK having thus become ‘functus officio’ does not take any responsibility with regard to admission, refund of fees etc. when once it forwards the list of selected candidates based on entrance test followed by single window centralized counseling and as such the candidates and others cannot subsequently set up any grievance against COMEDK.
  8. After the second round of Counseling, the list of selected candidates would be sent to all the regulating agencies of the Government and the Colleges concerned.

Rules for Candidates Attending Both Engineering & Architecture Counseling

  1. A candidate who selects an Engineering seat in the first round may also attend the first Round of Architecture. In the event of selecting an Architecture seat during the first round, the earlier selected Engineering seat automatically gets surrendered and added to the Second round of engineering seat matrix. Such a candidate will not be eligible to attend any further round of engineering counseling.
  2. A candidate who has not selected a seat in Engineering in the first round can attend the first round counseling of Architecture and select a seat. Further such a candidate is eligible to attend the second round of engineering counseling. In the event of selecting a seat in the second round of Engineering counseling, the earlier selected Architecture seat automatically gets surrendered and added to the Second round of Architecture seat matrix. However, such a candidate will not be eligible to attend any further round counseling of Architecture.
  3. Also, the candidates who either attend or not or select an Architecture seat or not during the first round of Architecture counseling are eligible to attend the second round of Architecture counseling.

Seat Selection Procedure For Minority Candidates

  1. During the common first round of counseling explained in above sections, the seats reserved for Minority category in Minority institutions would be available to the candidates coming under this category, whether Christian or Tulu for selection in the order of merit. Those candidates of this category by birth/domicile in Karnataka are first eligible to select the seats so reserved. All other Minority candidates are permitted to choose seats under General Merit category only according to their merit ranks.
  2. NOTE: During the first round of counseling, candidates belonging to religious and linguistic minority of Karnataka State can select a seat either under General Merit or in the respective minority institution in the order of merit only.
  3. However, there will be an exclusive round of counseling i.e. the first session of the second round of counseling for candidates belonging to minority category, only if the seats reserved for them are available. In this round, again Minority candidates by birth/domicile in Karnataka have preference in selecting the seats meant for Minority category and thereafter the leftover seats under the Christian Minority category can be selected by such Christian Minority candidates hailing from States other than Karnataka. As Non-Karnataka candidates will not be able to claim Tulu Minority, the above said opportunity is not available for them.
  4. If the seats are still left unfilled under minority quota they will be moved to General Merit category and the General Merit candidates would be counseled in the order of merit during the second round.
  5. The candidate who is holding a minority seat selected during the first round of counseling is eligible to participate only in the minority session of the Second Round. Also, the candidates who are holding a minority seat will not be eligible to participate in the subsequent General Merit sessions of second round.

Seat Selection Procedure For Hyderabad Karnataka Region Candidates

  1. During the common first round of counseling explained in above sections, the seats reserved for Hyderabad Karnataka region in the COMEDK Member Institutions would be available to the candidates coming under this class only.
  2. However, there will be an exclusive round of counseling i.e. the second session of the second round of counseling for candidates belonging to Hyderabad Karnataka region only if the seats reserved for them are available.
  3. If the seats are still left unfilled under Hyderabad Karnataka region quota those seats will be moved to General Merit category and the General Merit candidates would be counseled in the order of merit during the second round.
  4. The candidate who is holding a seat under Hyderabad Karnataka quota selected during the first round of counseling is eligible to participate only in the Hyderabad Karnataka region session of the Second Round. Also, the candidates who are holding Hyderabad-Karnataka region seat will not be eligible to participate in the subsequent General Merit sessions of second round.
