NEET Counselling

Candidates who will clear the cut-off marks and percentiles of NEET 2023, will be invited for the NEET 2023 counselling rounds. The counselling process will be carried out in three stages, namely, national-level, state-level, and AYUSH counselling. The Medical Council of India will organise the National-level counselling rounds and qualifying candidates will get admission to the All India quota seats through this level of counselling. State counselling committees are appointed by the respective state governments to conduct the state-level NEET counselling for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses through the 85 per cent state-quota seats. The AYUSH counselling will be conducted for admissions to BHMS, BAMS, BUMS, etc.

NEET 2023 Counselling Process Overview

The counselling process for NEET 2023 includes online registration, fee payment, choice filling and locking, seat allotment, and reporting to the college. Candidates who have registered in round 1 do not need to register again for rounds 2 and 3. Fresh registrations are not permitted in the stray vacancy rounds. Here is a step-by-step guide to the NEET 2023 counselling process:

Step 1: NEET Counselling 2023 Registration

  • Visit the official MCC website and click on the 'New Registration Round 1' link.
  • Agree to the terms and conditions and provide details such as Roll Number, Candidate Name, Mother's Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and Security Pin.
  • Use the same email ID and mobile number used in the NTA NEET application form for counselling registration.

Step 2: NEET Counselling 2023 Fees

  • After successful registration, pay the non-refundable counselling registration fees and refundable security deposit online (Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking).

Step 3: NEET Counselling 2023 Choice Filling and Locking

  • Fill in your preferred choices based on your NEET score and merit.
  • You can browse the list of colleges on the screen and select as many as you wish.
  • Arrange and prioritize your choices by moving them up or down, interchanging choices, or deleting options.
  • Once you finalize your choices, enter your password and click on 'Lock Choices'. Note that changes cannot be made after locking.

Step 4: NEET Counselling 2023 Seat Allotment Result

  • MCC releases the seat allotment result after each counselling round.
  • The list is published, followed by the issuance of seat allotment letters to selected candidates.
  • Report to the allotted college with the allotment letter and necessary documents for the admission process.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET Counselling 2023

In order to be eligible for NEET Counselling 2023, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:-

  • Candidates who qualify NEET 2023 are eligible to apply for counselling.
  • All candidates listed in the merit list released by the MCC, including those from J&K, can participate in the 15% AIQ Counselling.
  • To be eligible for the counselling process, it is mandatory to register on the official MCC UG medical counselling website.

NEET Counselling 2023 for 85% State Quota Seats

  • NEET counselling will be conducted at the state level by respective state bodies in 2023.
  • Each state's body is distinct and distinct. As a result, methods and dates for NEET counselling varies slightly amongst state-level conducting organisations.
  • All places, including those at private colleges, will be accessible to students under the 85% State Quota.
  • Candidates must register on the websites of the respective state counselling administrations.
  • Counselling is based on the positions on the state merit list given for each state.
  • 100% seats are offered for citizens of J&K, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh at colleges.

NEET Counselling 2023 for 15% All India Quota

  • The Government of India's Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) conducts counseling for 15% All India Quota Seats.
  • Online counseling will be available at all federal, central, and state institutions.
  • This counseling will also fill seats at ESIC and AFMC, as well as BHU and AMU.
  • Candidates shall apply for 15% All India Quota seats in accordance with DGHS guidelines, and seats that remain empty after two rounds of counseling will be modified in a mop-up round.
  • Candidates who engage in All India Counselling are also eligible to participate in State Counselling in their respective states.

Documents Required for NEET 2023 Counselling

It is mandatory to produce the original certificates along with the photocopies for document verification at the time of NEET 2023 Counselling. The documents required for NEET 2023 Counselling are listed below:-

  1. NEET Admit Card.
  2. NEET Scorecard.
  3. 10th and 12th Marksheets
  4. 10th and 12th Pass Certificates
  5. Government-issued photo ID proof
  6. Certificate for Physical Disability (if any)
  7. Caste Certificate (if any)
  8. Passport-size photographs
  9. Provisional seat allotment letter

NEET Counselling 2023: Instructions for Candidates Claiming NRI Status

As per the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, candidates who assert themselves as NRIs must submit relevant documents supporting their claim for a change in nationality from Indian to NRI. These documents can be emailed to ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com within the specified dates mentioned by the MCC. Candidates are advised to stay updated with the MCC website for further instructions. Please note that any emails received before or after the specified time frame will not be considered. It is recommended that candidates send all the required documents in a single email. Following documents need to be submitted to switch the category from Indian to NRI:-

  1. Proof of NRI sponsorer's status: Passport and Visa of the sponsorer
  2. Relationship proof between the NRI and the candidate
  3. Affidavit from the sponsorer confirming their commitment to sponsor the candidate's entire course fee
  4. Embassy Certificate of the Sponsorer or Certificate from the Consulate
  5. NEET 2023 Score Card of the candidate

NEET 2023 Reservation Criteria

According to the reservation criteria, specific seat allocations will be made for candidates belonging to different categories, including GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD. The percentage of seats reserved for each category is outlined as follows:-

NEET Counselling 2023 for BAMS/ BHMS/ BUMS/ BSMS

The Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) conducts NEET Counselling 2023 for BAMS/ BHMS/ BUMS to allocate approximately 52,720 seats in Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy courses. The detailed schedule for NEET Counselling 2023 for AYUSH programs will be made available at aaccc.gov.in. The process consists of four rounds, which include AYUSH NEET UG Counselling 2023, including mop-up and stray vacancy rounds.

Steps involved in the NEET Counselling process for AYUSH courses are as follows:-

  1. Online registration on the official website, aaccc.gov.in.
  2. Submission of counselling registration fees using online payment methods.
  3. Selection and locking of choices for courses and colleges participating in NEET 2023 Counselling for AYUSH.
  4. Announcement of seat allotment results, followed by reporting at the allotted college within the given deadline.

AYUSH NEET Counselling 2023: Registration Process

  • Step-1Visit the official website for AYUSH NEET Counselling - aaccc.gov.in and click on 'UG counselling'.
  • Step-2Click on the link for 'New candidate registration' to proceed with fresh registration.
  • Step-3Enter your roll number, NEET registration number, candidate's name, date of birth (DOB), and security pin.
  • Step-4Login using the roll number and password sent to your registered email id and phone number.
  • Step-5Fill in your personal and academic details, NEET exam details, contact details, and upload the required documents.
  • Step-6Pay the application fee as specified and proceed with the payment.
  • Step-7Finally, print out the confirmation page as proof of successful registration.

Rules for Candidates Attending Both Engineering & Architecture Counseling

  1. A candidate who selects an Engineering seat in the first round may also attend the first Round of Architecture. In the event of selecting an Architecture seat during the first round, the earlier selected Engineering seat automatically gets surrendered and added to the Second round of engineering seat matrix. Such a candidate will not be eligible to attend any further round of engineering counseling.
  2. A candidate who has not selected a seat in Engineering in the first round can attend the first round counseling of Architecture and select a seat. Further such a candidate is eligible to attend the second round of engineering counseling. In the event of selecting a seat in the second round of Engineering counseling, the earlier selected Architecture seat automatically gets surrendered and added to the Second round of Architecture seat matrix. However, such a candidate will not be eligible to attend any further round counseling of Architecture.
  3. Also, the candidates who either attend or not or select an Architecture seat or not during the first round of Architecture counseling are eligible to attend the second round of Architecture counseling.

Seat Selection Procedure For Minority Candidates

  1. During the common first round of counseling explained in above sections, the seats reserved for Minority category in Minority institutions would be available to the candidates coming under this category, whether Christian or Tulu for selection in the order of merit. Those candidates of this category by birth/domicile in Karnataka are first eligible to select the seats so reserved. All other Minority candidates are permitted to choose seats under General Merit category only according to their merit ranks.
  2. NOTE: During the first round of counseling, candidates belonging to religious and linguistic minority of Karnataka State can select a seat either under General Merit or in the respective minority institution in the order of merit only.
  3. However, there will be an exclusive round of counseling i.e. the first session of the second round of counseling for candidates belonging to minority category, only if the seats reserved for them are available. In this round, again Minority candidates by birth/domicile in Karnataka have preference in selecting the seats meant for Minority category and thereafter the leftover seats under the Christian Minority category can be selected by such Christian Minority candidates hailing from States other than Karnataka. As Non-Karnataka candidates will not be able to claim Tulu Minority, the above said opportunity is not available for them.
  4. If the seats are still left unfilled under minority quota they will be moved to General Merit category and the General Merit candidates would be counseled in the order of merit during the second round.
  5. The candidate who is holding a minority seat selected during the first round of counseling is eligible to participate only in the minority session of the Second Round. Also, the candidates who are holding a minority seat will not be eligible to participate in the subsequent General Merit sessions of second round.

Seat Selection Procedure For Hyderabad Karnataka Region Candidates

  1. During the common first round of counseling explained in above sections, the seats reserved for Hyderabad Karnataka region in the COMEDK Member Institutions would be available to the candidates coming under this class only.
  2. However, there will be an exclusive round of counseling i.e. the second session of the second round of counseling for candidates belonging to Hyderabad Karnataka region only if the seats reserved for them are available.
  3. If the seats are still left unfilled under Hyderabad Karnataka region quota those seats will be moved to General Merit category and the General Merit candidates would be counseled in the order of merit during the second round.
  4. The candidate who is holding a seat under Hyderabad Karnataka quota selected during the first round of counseling is eligible to participate only in the Hyderabad Karnataka region session of the Second Round. Also, the candidates who are holding Hyderabad-Karnataka region seat will not be eligible to participate in the subsequent General Merit sessions of second round.
